Bruce Reed, Director of Racquets

 

Coach Bruce comes to Rancho Las Palmas with a wealth of experience as a professional athlete and professional coach that spans over four decades. 

Growing up in Walla Walla, Washington, he became one of the top junior tennis and basketball players in the state. After graduating high school, he became a college student-athlete for Walla Walla Junior College, Western Washington University, and North Adams State in Massachusetts. He was the number one singles player and starting point guard at all three colleges.

Following a successful collegiate career in both sports, he played 7 seasons of pro-am basketball in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Seattle, Washington. At age 30, he turned back to tennis and won 3 professional tournaments and many 5.0+ open tournaments. He is currently a USTA 5.0 player.

In 2001, Coach Bruce became the Director of Tennis for Club Green Meadows in Vancouver, Washington and now has 21 years experience as a Director of Tennis. While in Vancouver, Washington he proudly raised two beautiful children, Colton and Carlee.

In 2019, he added pickleball to his professional career and became a certified pickleball professional and Director of Pickleball as well as a DUPR 5.0 player.

Coach Bruce has directed and managed over 100 tournaments and over 80 camps in his professional career. Coach Bruce moved to Indian Wells in 2020 and plans to bring all of his enthusiasm and passion to the club. He's looking forward to bringing new and exciting events to the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort!
